Boys Trip

Well a couple of months have gone by but over memorial day weekend me and my dad and my little brother took a boys trip as a last hurrah before Melba got married. We spent the first night just outside yellowstone, and the second night in Jackson, WY at the Painted Buffalo Inn. Here is the evidence:

These next few pics were taken in Driggs, Idaho.

It's no wonder everybody thinks of potatoes when they think of Idaho,

we're not helping that image here.

We stopped at my Dad's brother's graves on the way out there.

Randal Kane died at 4 months old and Harold Craig died at 4 years old.

Since this was a dude trip it only seemed appropriate to get a pic of the dude motel.

Here are some of the guys we saw in Yellowstone.

We saw this guy,

And these guys.

Whilst waiting for old faithful to do its thing we played some catch (to the envy of all of the other folks just sitting on their hands). We were trying to get to 100 consecutive catches when Mckay quite literally dropped the ball on number 87. As a result he was required to do 20 push ups in front of the whole crowd of people waiting for the geyser. Good Job, Melb!

Oh, that's why they call it the painted Buffalo.

Happy Birthday to the Fire Marshall

Jace is now living the life he envisioned for himself at age 5—rescuing injured mountain bikers in Evergreen and putting out wildfires.

If we were all so lucky, I would be a horse trainer and an author by now. Spencer, a cowboy.

The Big 8-0

Grandma rang in 80 by inviting 100-plus friends and family over for a dance party June 18.

Her favorite band played the party for free—the perks of being a groupie. They also gave her a gift, framed pictures of my grandparents dancing at their performances all over Denver.

I promise the Karfords weren't the only ones dancing. See, there's G.

I love this one.

Lyndsey, at 8 months here, was also twirled by Grandpa Jack. AND she just delivered baby Jack on her birthday.

And to cap it off, an awkward dance still.

Squids Don't Know Anything

They say this Octopus in Germany has yet to predict a World Cup match wrong.

I say, Go Netherlands!

Que Riquisimo!

We have our tickets. We're going to Costa Rica within the calendar year. I can't wait for the beach, the jungle, etc., etc. And Spencer, he just wants to go pick coffee.

And Hallelujah

I found my wedding ring. A Christmas miracle in July.

My Job Is Still Cool

I had fun interviewing Bruce Bachand, who's just digging up ancient tombs in Mexico with money from National Geographic.

Watch our video on the dig and check out BYU Today.
